SMA Resolution No. 94 of 2015 extends for one year the term of SMA No. 100 of 2013

The DOE of December 16, 2015, section I, page 115, published SMA Resolution No. 94, of December 14, 2015. The Resolution extends the term established in the caput of article 3 of SMA Resolution No. 100, of 17 December, for one year. October 2013, for the environmental matrix provided for in item I, for companies that have already submitted, until October 21, 2015, the protocol of their accreditation request with the General Coordination for Accreditation - CGCRE of the National Metrology Institute , Quality and Technology - INMETRO, in accordance with the criteria to be established in the "Board of Directors' Decision" of CETESB - Companhia Ambiental do Estado de São Paulo.

AESAS 'Board of Directors, together with the support of its members, moved efforts and made a survey to support the request with CETESB for the extension of the term. The figures below were raised in September 2015 and show the number of organizations that are accredited in NBR ISO IEC 17025 for sampling by the low flow technique according to the public database available on the INMETRO website:

ORGANIZATIONS ACCREDITED FOR SAMPLING BY LOW FLOW TECHNIQUE IN THE STATE OF SÃO PAULO

  • LABORATORIES - 15

  • CONSULTANTS - 4

  • ENVIRONMENTAL AGENCY - 1

Continuing with the study, the 2014 CETESB register was taken as reference, which provides that there are 4,585 areas with activities that require monitoring in the state of São Paulo.

Taking these numbers into account, the association took the initiative to formally request from CETESB a request for an extension for one year for those companies that have already submitted, until October 21, 2015, the protocol of their accreditation request with the General Coordination of Accreditation - CGCRE of the National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology - INMETRO as it understands that the demand for services versus accredited laboratories, would make the progress of Contaminated Areas Management activities impossible. Finally, the study identified that about 25 companies delivered the request to INMETRO. The result of this effort is published in SMA nº 94, of December 14, 2015 and can be accessed at http://www.ambiente.sp.gov.br/legislacao/resolucoes-sma/resolucao-sma-94-2015/ .

For those companies that have not yet submitted their application for accreditation with INMETRO, the sampling of the matrices contained in article 3 of the SMA-100 of 2013 must be performed by organizations accredited in NBR ISO IEC 17025 for the scope in question.
